Ge Genelia is a happy girl these days. Not only for her film’s success but also for all the appreciation she has been getting from film-lovers and critics for her portrayal of Aditee aka Mau! ‘Genelia overshadowed Imran in the film’ was a common opinion and the young actress couldn’t be happier!
“I am feeling fantastic! After Jaane Tu, people have rechristened me as Meeao or Aditi and that feels great. People recognize me as Aditi now! I am glad to know that the film has clicked with almost all kinds of audiences”, says Genelia who is busy basking in the glory of her film of late.
You have tasted success today in Hindi films but your initial films didn’t click! “Working in films was never my ultimate career option. I never expected much, also I took failures in my stride back then”, comes a prompt reply.
Talking about success, do friends make for great lovers in real life as shown in her now successful film Jaane Tu? “If you have a close friend there is bound to be that attraction” says Genelia. That definitely prompts us to ask if she has felt the same for ‘good friend’ Ritesh? “Ritesh is a good friend and all the talks about our marriage are nothing but baseless rumours”, says the young actress yet again denying her alleged linkup with Ritesh.
So what’s next for Genelia? “I have ‘Life Partner’ which is an Abbas Mustan production, an untitled film with Harman Baweja which has been directed by Anees Bazmee.

They are quite similar!” concludes she, trying to be at her diplomatic best!

Sharing his on-shoot experiences, he added: "We used to play a lot of cricket on the sets and my co-stars got many cricketing tips from me."
Victory is the story of a small-town cricketer played by Harman Baweja who makes it big in the international cricket scene. He is helped by Lee in the movie to realise his dreams.
Other Australian players - Michael Hussey, Brad Hogg and Stuart Clark will also share screen space in the movie for the first time along with Lee.
Apart from claiming wickets, Lee shares a passion for music. He also did a song and music video for legendary singer Asha Bhosle's album Asha and friends.
"I am a music lover and I can hear anything from 'Metallica' to 'Backstreet Boys'," Lee added.
Lee's love for music is evident by his habit of playing either the guitar or the piano everyday.
"Music is the real stress buster for me, so at the end of a busy day, I play some instrument or listen to good music to uplift my spirits," he said.

Queried about his fashion statement, he quipped: "Fashion is just like music to me. I like to carry myself well and my fashion statement is just to be oneself." Lee, who is a busy person because of hectic cricket tours and other assignments, is a home person whenever he gets the time. "The family always comes first, so I love to be with them whenever I get time. My home is the ultimate holiday destination for me," he concluded.

Katrinaforms a Good Jodi with Ranbir
Katrina Kaif may have lost out on Bachna Ae Haseeno due to problems with the script, but it has not harmed her jodi with Ranbir Kapoor. The actress who has been looking for new heroes to star opposite, is believed to have signed two films opposite Ranbir. The duo has already started shooting for the first film, which Raj Kumar Santoshi's Ajab Prem Ki Gazab Kahani. The second film that she is supposed to have signed opposite Ranbir is Prakash Jha's next, which is said to be a political thriller called Rajniti. Jha had gone to the extend of saying that if he had not been able to get Ranbir, he would probably not even dream of doing the film. Rajniti also stars Jha favourite Ajay Devgan and Manoj Bajpai. According to the director, his reasons for signing Katrina were many. Firstly, the actress fitted the bill of a modern, young woman that he is looking for and secondly, she would look very good opposite Ranbir. The film is supposed to be more like a contemporary take on the Mahabharat whith Indian politics forming the backdrop. It has also been heard that Vivek Oberoi was also approached to do one of the roles but it didn't work out. Actor Arjun Rampal has been roped in instead, in his place. Since Jha's films are quite hard hitting and powerful, it will surely be a novel experience for both Katrina and Ranbir, who have only cut their teeth on the run of mill commercial Hindi cinema so far.

NOW ITS TIME FOR SANIA
Bollywood and tennis sensation Shahid Kapoor and Sania Mirza are yet to declare their love in public but their close association is enough to make one aware that the duo is into some serious commmitment with each other. Looking at the sizzling duo, one can easily make out that something spicy is cooking between them and they are more than just good friends.
Shahid in a grey T-shirt, blue cap and blue jeans, while Sania is a long yellow T-shirt and jeans spotted together at Mumbai’s Lokhandwala Complex recently. They were caught spending quality time with each other in many hot and happening locales of Mumbai. They bonded together quite well.
According to an onlooker, after going around some hot spots of Mumbai, Shahid drove Sania to Ahmad Khan’s home where they spent the afternoon listening to songs of Shahid’s forthcoming film Kismet Konnection. In the later part of the day, the pair went to a five-star restaurant for a romantic dinner and then booked a room in a Bandra hotel. Earlier also Shahid and Sania were spotted together in various occasions. After breaking up with Kareena, Shahid was reportedly seeing Vidya Balan and Amrita Rao but finally he settled on Sania.

yet again vidya upset with designers
It’s a story that has been told umpteen times, but apparently Vidya Balan is still not getting the message.
Vidya Balan is not getting the semantics of dressing right. To gauge public reaction to her film Kismat Konnection, the actress caught an afternoon show in a Mumbai suburban multiplex. While she was applauded for her acting, it was her pairing with a much younger looking Shahid and her clothes that received a lot of flak.
With her classical face and Indian body structure, Vidya should stick to sarees or casual attire, designers opine. But is Vidya listening?

harman gets warm welcome from Big B
The actor who’s in a reclusive mood after his first film ‘Love Story: 2050’ bombed at the box-office, Harman Baweja has finally discovered the silver lining to dark clouds over his career. In what can be called a souvenir of sorts for a newcomer, the junior Baweja just discovered a hand-written good luck note from none other than Amitabh Bachchan! Apparently, the senior Bachchan had personally written a good luck note and sent it to Harman on the day of ‘Love Story: 2050’s’ release. But as they say in a very filmy manner, waqt se pehle aur naseeb se jyada kabhi kisi ko kuch nahi milta ( No one gets anything before the time is right and more than pre-destined), the note never reached Harman among all the chaos that surrounded the film’s release. It was only two weeks later when the senior Bachchan called up Harman’s lady luck Priyanka Chopra to wish her on her birthday that the matter came to light. After blessing the actress who’s oft referred to as Piggy Chops by the Bachchans, he casually enquired if Harman had received the note. And that’s when things started falling in place. A concerned Priyanka quickly called up Harman, who began the note-hunt. Only after hours of seeking and searching did they find the beautifully hand-written letter addressed to the young debutante. A suddenly soared spirit, Harman quickly called up Big B to say a big ‘Thank You’ accompanied with apologies for the delay. Harman said, “It is so sweet of Mr.Bachchan. I never expected a man of his seniority and stature to extend such a warm welcome to a newcomer. But that is Mr.Bachchan. And it is a note that I will cherish.”

Mission Istaanbul
POORVA Lakhia simply got carried away by the bang-bang of Shootout at Lokhandwala . But whilst the earlier film was a high testosterone action flick which clicked simply because it didn't compromise on its emotional quotient, Mission Istaanbul sees Lakhia concentrating on action alone. End result? A cold, clinical drama, spilling over with gun fights, fist fights, car chases and stunts that have no emotional bedrock. The characters fail to connect with each other and the audience and the good versus evil war against terrorism remains thanda at the core. Once again, it's the lack of a story that sorely lets down the actors who try hard to get the adrenalin pumping with their guys-and-guns lore.
The director chooses a topical theme: terrorism, but loses the plot midway and blames a media channel for creating most of the terror in the world. Osama has been conveniently bumped off in his bunker by Turkish commando, Rizwan Khan (Vivek Oberoi), yet his tapes keep appearing on the popular Al Johara (Al Jazeera, did you say?) television network. The doctored tapes have been created by the media mogul (Niketan Dheer) who is in league with the terrorists and is spearheading mayhem, the world over, only to raise the TRPs.
This time, the target is India, but for the brave Indian television anchor, Zayed Khan and his Turkish comrade-in-arms, Vivek Oberoi. Of course, they manage to find a third partner too in the desi Lara Croft (Shweta Bhardwaj) who has the uncanny knack of jumping in whenever the stakes are low. Quite a distraction, actually, especially since Hunk No. 1 (Zayed) is newly divorced from wife Shreya and Hunk No. 2 (Vivek) has lost his wife to the terrorists.
The film has been shot well in the exotic locales of Istanbul, but there isn't much that Vivek's long hair and Zayed's serious be-spectacled look can do to save the film from ending up as a thriller that doesn't actually thrill. Even Abhishek Bachchan's item number fails to garner applause this time. The only time the film perks up is with the Bush humour. The American President wonders what's the problem with Turkey? Are the birds in short supply? he asks. And if that's not enough, he warns his aides to `leave those Indians alone with their pen drives' since all the call centres are in India and he must learn how to pronounce Man-mo-han, before he visits India. Ha!

deols back with sapne "After apne flops"
The three Deols, Dharmendra, Sunny and Bobby will soon be making their appearance again together on screen, in yet another movie made by their banner. The father and son team were last seen together in Anil Sharma's Apne.
Apne was like a comeback vehicle for veteran Dharmendra and it was a shot in the arm for all three Deols. The film was highly appreciated and did quite well at the box office too. Dharmendra, of course, was also seen in tow other critically acclaimed films of last years, Anurag Basu's Metro and Johnny Gaddar. But Bobby, in the meantime, has just had two releases, Nanhe Jaisalmer and Naqaab, neither of which have done very well. Apne was a shot in the arm for him as well as for big brother Sunny. In fact, it is Sunny who is all set to launch his next home production which will be directed by Sangeeth Sivan. The film will be made under the Vijayata Films banner. It is expected to go on the floors in September. One is sure that the sight of seeing all three Punjabi macho men on screen will be quite interesting.

Even 'ash' also targeted on salman's dus ka dum
Seems like his show Dus Ka Dum is acting as a massive stress buster for Salman Khan. He made friends with Aamir yet again on the show, shook his leg with Govinda and allowed Harbhajan Singh and Yuvraj Singh to tease him about Katrina...
The latest we heard was he even spoke about Ash on his show!
One of the audience members told us, "Salman made his entry on this episode of Dus Ka Dum with the kite flying song from Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam... much to the amusement of the entire audience who had not forgotten his Ash-connection! Surprisingly, Salman did not take offence when contestants or audience brought up Aishwarya's name in conversation!
In fact, he took it in his stride without batting an eyelid and took her name purely as a co-star without any attempt to avoid the name. "Hum Dheel deke chuke sanam" is how he puts it!"

karan johar finds friends first
There are people like Karan Johar in the Hindi film industry, for whom friendship means a lot. In fact, he is the kind who has no qualms about mixing the two together. We all know how he gave away Shah Rukh Khan's dates to his friend Aditya Chopra, so that the latter could start his movie, Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi.
In fact, by giving away SRK's dates, he delayed the shooting of his film, staring the actor. Now he has gone a step ahead with the film Dostana, which is his home production and is being directed by Tarun Mansukhani. Till recently it seemed that Dharma Productions' films were going to be bought by biggies like Eros and Twentieth Century Fox. But according to sources, Karan seems to have changed his mind. It seems that he is going to go ahead and sell his movies to Yash Raj Films. Karan has always shared a very good relationship with the Chopras, both personal and professional. Hence, it seems that he has decided in favour of his friends. He is believed to have sold the worldwide distribution rights to Yash Raj. The amount for which he has sold them is, however, yet unknown. He has so far retained the music rights of the movie. This will definitely be an ace in the arm for the Yash Raj banner, which is also in the process of retaining their other old client, Rakesh Roshan, for his next project Kites, which is being directed by Anurag Basu and stars Hrithik Roshan.

ShahRukh and Rajnikant shares same film with differnt tittle
Shah Rukh Khan got shocked when he heard that Superstar Rajnikant's Tamil film 'Kuselan' has been wrapped up and will be releasing in August.
Rajnikant's previous film 'Sivaji' although was a Tamil film managed to get unexpected attention of people from all over
So the producers of 'Kuselan' had planned to release the Hindi dubbed version at the same time when the movie hits the cinema halls in south.
'Kuselan' is the remake of the Malyalam hit film 'Katha Parayumbol' so is King Khan's forthcoming film 'Billoo Barber'.
Sharukh wanted to finish off the work of his film fast and get it released as a Diwali movie.
And he was also confident of getting his film first to the theaters.
Upon hearing that the Hindi version of 'Kuselan' will be reaching the theaters much before his film will get exposed, SRK panicked as if this happens the box office prospect of 'Billoo Barber' will get severely damaged due to having the same theme and story.
Adding more intensity to his tension was that in both the films, the lead actors appear in 20 different looks in a single song.
SRK had no other option than to make a call to the South Superstar and request him to change the north Indian release date of 'Kuselan'.
Rajnikant considered Sharukh's request and assured him that his film will get to the halls only after Diwali.

khans with different flavours in ‘ Billo Barber’
s
No, the two hot Khans dont share the same hairstylist. We are talking about upcoming movie produced by SRK’s Red Chillies Entertainment, which will have Irrfan Khan playing the main protagonist.
SRK is collaborating with ace director Priyadarshan for a comedy flick titled, ‘ Billo Barber’. Unlike all SRK produced movie, Billo Barber will have SRK in a supporting role and Irrfan Khan is the main hero.
The story for Billo Barber is inspired from the legend of Krishna and Sudama. The film is the story about friendship between a rich actor (SRK) and a poor barber (IK). The duos were langotia yaars in their childhood. But later drift apart only to meet again.
An industry insider reveals, ” Billo Barber is a story based on the relationship between Krishan and his childhood friend Sudama. Priyan is adapting this story of friendship between two friends-in a completely new avatar. Here SRK represents Krishna, he plays an actor. On the other hand Irrfan Khan represents Sudama and plays a village barber. The two are friends from school who grow up and drift until they meet again.”
According to rumors, SRK will be romancing three top actresses-Kareena, Priyanka Chopra and Deepika Padukone.
Meanwhile the lady opposite Irrfan Khan is yet to be finalized. Priyan is looking for a energetic actress like Samita Patil for the role. Most probably Ameesha Patel or Tabu will clinch the deal.

Father Anupam Kher finds his son Sikander Kher as an "original actor"
Newcomer Sikander Kher 's two films Woodstock Villa and Summer 2007 -- may have bombed at the box office, but proud father anupam kher finds him as an "original actor" and wishes to share screen with him.
"Sikandar is a very hard working boy and has the capability of becoming an international actor. He is an original actor who is free from trappings of a typical Hindi film hero," says Kher.
Talking to reporters on the sideline of a function in New Delhi recently, the seasoned actor also expressed his desire to work with son Sikander in near future.
"I look forward to work with him. There are some scripts we are working on. Lets hope when it becomes possible," he said.
Sikander made his debut with Sanjay Gupta 's thriller 'Woodstock Villa,' but could prove his acting skill only in his recent film 'Summer 2007,' a film by first time director Suhai Tatari .
The movie tells the story of five medical students who undergo a rude awakening of sorts when they visit a village in Maharashtra and come across the misfortune of villagers.
Sikander has played a youth who undergoes a serious soul searching after observing the carefree attitude of society and the government towards the agrarian community.
"He is working on several scripts these days. But he is very choosy in selecting films. Though he is keen to work with all directors and all type of films but he is very cautious before going ahead with any project," says Kher.
Kher, who is busy in shooting schedules as about half a dozen films are queued up for release this year, expected to charm his audience with both comic and serious roles.
"I am working for five to six films right now and they are scheduled to hit the screens this year. Among them is 'Mr Bhatti On Chutti' which has been written and directed by my National School of Drama (NSD) friend Karan Razdan," he said.
Kher is playing double role one of a detective and another of an international terrorist in the movie which was extensively shot in Britain.
Among his other movies are target="_blank">God Tussi Great Ho , Victory , 'Striker' and 'Wednesday'.
Debutant director Rumi Jaffrey's 'God Tussi Great Ho' is a romantic-comedy which casts Salman Khan and Priyanka Chopra in the lead roles, while 'Wednesday' is based on the Mumbai train blasts.
The movie, which also features naseeruddin shah , will describe the events of the day last July when bombs ripped through the locals in India's financial capital, killing 187 people and injuring more than 800.

Kismat Konnection hits boxoffice
Kismat Konnection Review
Simple stories, told in the simplest manner, have been the hallmark of all Aziz Mirza films, right from Raju Ban Gaya Gentleman to Chalte Chalte. Kismat Konnection, the veteran's new outing, is no exception.
The characters we watch on screen are relatable, their problems are the type that we've either heard of or experienced ourselves, the love story and the conflict in the tale also comes across so real. Like Mirza's previous films, Kismat Konnection is also not heavy on your senses.
Since Mirza has only worked with the Numero Uno star, SRK, in the past, the first question that crosses your mind is, does he get it right with Shahid? And the second question is, is the chemistry between the lead pair interesting? Thankfully, the answers to both the questions are in the affirmative.
But there's just one hitch. Kismat Konnection takes its own sweet time to reach the finale [yes, it's lengthy in the second hour]. Besides, it gets slow-paced as well. Yet, all said and done, Kismat Konnection is a film that makes you smile and that is its biggest triumph.
The last word. Kismat Konnection is a pleasant experience, sunshine , lingers in your memory even after the show has concluded.
Raj [Shahid Kapoor] was numero uno. In academics, sports, dramatics. But four years after winning the best-student-of-the-year trophy from his architectural college, he's wondering why a brilliant architect like him, with designs to set the Canadian landscape on fire, is still struggling to find that one big chance to showcase his mettle.
It's almost as though some negative kismat is following him around because whenever something good is about to happen, it seems doomed to fail.
Desperate to get rid of the bad phase in his life, Raj meets a quirky oracle, Hasina Bano Jaan [Juhi Chawla]. She tells him that soon his stars will change and make everything work in his favour; but for all this to happen, Raj has first to find his lucky charm and never let go of it. But she tells him no more, leaving Raj mystified, trying to figure out what this charm could be.
Suddenly, his life seems to be on the right track. He's managed to impress top builder Sanjeev Gill [Om Puri] into giving him a prestigious project.
Priya [Vidya Balan] is a tough-talking, tough-decision taking girl with a heart of gold. She is an idealist who is intent on making the world a better, more humane place and is quite willing to fight a lone battle for it.
Raj succeeds in persuading Priya that he's the Messiah who can save her beloved Community Centre from destruction. And also opens her eyes to her philandering fiance [Amit Verma]. Raj even manages to thwart the evil designs of old-college-foe-turned-deadly-professional-enemy Dave [Manoj Bohra]. Does this mean that Raj has unwittingly discovered his lucky charm?
Recall Aziz Mirza's movies. In practically all his films, the protagonist is aspiring to make it big in life. There's a constant struggle on both levels, personal and professional. Kismat Konnection is no different. Sure, Kismat Konnection isn't entirely original. It bears an uncanny resemblance to Just my Luck [2006; Lindsay Lohan, Chris Pine], but it has been adapted quite well in the Indian milieu. What also sets apart is that Mirza's films have a subtle message and Kismat Konnection is no exception.
Kismat Konnection is primarily a love story that viewers may have visited several times in the past, but let's not forget, romance can never ever go out of fashion. Mirza and co-director Haroun Mirza succeed in presenting the highs and lows in a relationship with maturity. The situations are simple, there's no place for melodrama here. But Mirza should've taken care in maintaining its pace and length in the second hour. The film could've easily done away with a number of scenes.
Pritam's music is ear-pleasing. 'Aai Paapi' and 'Bakhuda Tumhi Ho' are haunting compositions, while ahmed khans choreography in the former takes your breath away. Binod Pradhan's cinematography is top notch and the icing on the cake is the breath-taking locales of Canada.
Shahid is a complete natural, very likable, very believable. Post Jab,We Met the actor has attained that rare confident shows in his performances. Watch him get the emotional moments right and you know that the actor has only matured with time. You may have pre-conceived notions vis-À-vis his pairing with Vidya, but let's tell you that they look perfect. The trimmed hair and minimal makeup make Vidya look pretty. Acting-wise too, she pitches in a fine performance.
Juhi tends to go over the top, but that's the demand of the role. Om Puri is first-rate. Himani Shivpuri is fantastic and her punjabi accent will bring the house down. Vishal Malhotra is efficient. Manoj Bohra acts very well.
On the whole, Kismat Konnection is a simple film that has its own charm. It's no path-breaking cinema, but it works. At the box-office, its kismet should be strong at multiplexes and the wide release, coupled with no opposition, will help its distributors reap a benefit. Business in Overseas, where it has been given an extensive release, should also be good.

Madhuri may seen in comic role in '36-24-36'
Pritish Nandy communications and up coming film maker Megna Gulzar are trying to rope in Madhuri Dixit for the comedy film with the unusual title '36-24-36'.
The full length role of the protagonist that has been offered to Madhuri is said as a one of its kind one and one which the senior actress has never done before in her long and illustrious career in Bollywood.
Megna Gulzar says that the Madhuri loved the script and became very interested in doing the film after she heard the script on her recent visit to India.
The director also feels that the role can be done with utmost perfection only by Madhuri.
As the title indicates the film's story deals with measurements and weight loss which is a very contemporary subject if the latest craze for being size zero among girls is considered.
The only issue that had to be dealt with while trying to get Madhuri on board was the fact that the actress lives in U.S.A and cannot stay apart from her little kids for too long
So there is every chance that the film will be shot in U.S.A. as the producer Pritish Nandy Communications have considered the limitations faced by the actress and decided to shift the location to U.S.A if needed.

Priyadarshan is ecstatic about SRK the actor and SRK the producer.
Well the great fight is over. Now both Salman Khan and Shah Rukh Khan are back to doing what they do best and that is act. So now that the dust has settled, both actors are back at the studios.
SRK is shooting for the Priyadarshan directed Billoo Barber while Salman is busy with Subhash Ghai's Yuvraaj. But while one of them is playing a model actor the other is still being his petulant self. Priyadrashan, it seems, is totally bowled over by SRK's dedication.
The actor, who was otherwise constantly known to be on his cellphone, has apparently, switched off his mobile as he does not want to be disturbed by unwanted calls. Maybe he just wants to avoid any calls talking about the fight. Who knows? But the result is that SRK's behaviour has really impressed Priyadarshan.
The director is bowled over by the actor's dedication and hard work. The actor is not using his cellphone at all on the sets. He joins actors like Amitabh Bachchan, Aamir Khan, who too never use their phones when on the set.
Priyadarshan is ecstatic about SRK the actor and SRK the producer. Both have given him a free hand to shoot the film as he pleases. What more could any director want.

Gauri, seema and malaika showing true 'FRIENDSHIP"
While the bollywood’s on a divide over the two Khans, their wives chose to stick together. The recent spat of SRK and Sallu might have the whole industry taking sides, but Gauri Khan, Malaika Arora Khan and Sohail Khan’s wife Seema khan still are friends. The trio have a very good friendship among them to let it go justlike that.Among Seema’s celebrity clientele Gauri Khan and Malaika Arora Khan are her best buyer.
“They are almost like sisters. They party together, shop together and even take vacations together. Even their children are friends. They are too thick to let this jhagda between Shah Rukh and Salman affect their sisterhood,” was quoted by a news daily to confirm the unity among the ladies.
The ladies have declared their decision to the warring men. They are determined not to take sides and continue with their close friendship. When asked if the fight will break up their friendship and make them choose sides Maheep Kapoor says firmly, "Not at all!
Whatever has happened has got nothing to do with us and neither are we interested in taking sides. Things will remain the same. We won't let anything affect or friendship."
Seema Khan was unavailable for comment while sister-in-law Malaika Arora says, "Please don't involve me in this." However a source close to her adds, "Malaika doesn't want to comment as she is a Khan bahu.
Seema and Malaika have different takes as their equations are different because of the family and keeping that in mind it's unfair for them to comment. Malaika believes friendship is friendship and doesn't want to mix issues. She feels all of this will die a natural death in the long run."
With the men becoming kids, these ladies are surely beauties with brains!!

via darjeeling
Chillers and thrillers are a fashion statement in Hindi mainstream cinema today. After Rajeev Khandelwal's aamir comes another promising thriller called Via Darjeeling. Arindam Nandy, who honed his skills in advertising, helms this film. Via Darjeeling sees newlyweds Ankur (Kay Kay Menon) and Rimli (Sonali Kulkarni [Images]) visit Darjeeling on their honeymoon. The evening before they are to return to Kolkata, Ankur goes missing. The inspector in charge, Robin Bose (Vinay Pathak), hunts for Ankur but he is never found. A disturbed Rimli gives him clues -- she tells him about a fight Ankur had with a cabbie and a mysterious man who kept stalking them.
The film is co-produced by Joy Ganguly, and presented by NFDC under the Moxie Entertainments banner. The other 'Bengali' identity the film boasts of is its unusual storyline that revolves around the concept of the adda -- or the long, informal chat sessions among friends.
"I had written the original script in Bengali under the title Ashaade Goppo, a phrase metaphorically linked to tales drawn from imagination. Joy Ganguly liked the script but wanted to make the film in Hindi. The script then went through several name changes like Take 5 and All Tales but we settled with Via Darjeeling," says Nandy.

aamir gifts BMW after the success of JTJYN's
Uncle Aamir is so much so pleased with JTJYN's stupendous success that he decided to appreciate his nephew Imran in a different style. Recently Mamu Aamir gifted his oh-so cute Bhanja (nephew) Imran Khan a white BMW. The BMW, which Aamir gifted Imran is amongst the latest models in the market costing close to Rs. 50 lakh.
Imran is extremely fond of cars and Aamir was well aware of this. Therefore Aamir thought that this would be the best way to congratulate Imran on his spanking new success with his debut film JAANE TU...YA JAANE NA. Imran, who wasn't expecting anything like a BMW, was ecstatic with Mamu's wonderful gest

Aishwarya Rai and Ben Kingsley's doing Taj Mahal
Sir Ben Kingsley is extremely enthusiastic about his upcoming project Taj Mahal which also stars Aishwarya Rai and Bipasha Basu. Some excerpts from a recent interview to TOI.
Why this sudden obsession with the Taj Mahal and why not on the other seven wonders of the world?
"Well, ever since I did Gandhi 25 years back, I have been toying with the idea of making a movie on this eternal love story," he reveals. "What attracted me to this beautiful story is the historical background which is intriguing and emotional. It's a story about turmoil, betrayal and jealousy, violence and love. It is a beautiful paradox where passion turned into marble. It has all the ingredients to make it a blockbuster," he says in his British accent. Is he going to play Shah Jahan?
"Yes, I'm looking forward to playing Shah Jahan and right now I'm in the middle of research for the role. I must say my screenwriters have done a marvelous job by putting together all the research material. One thing for sure the movie will be articulate and highly dramatic. But I will only be able to give it a finishing touch once I land in India". he says.

remake of Amar Akbar Anthony
The moment you hear the name David Dhawan, the only thing that comes to your mind are crazy comedy films. But surprisingly, Dhawan has said that he has planned to make a film which will be non-comic. It is a story by Renzil D’silva, the co writer of Rang De Basanti. David Dhawan just loved the subject and decided to do the film the moment he heard the script. The film will be produced by UTV which will go on floors in November.
Besides this, he will also be remaking Amar Akbar Anthony starring Salman, Sohail and Arbaaz Khan which will be shot next year. But currently, David Dhawan is busy shooting Partner starring Govinda and Salman Khan.

Underworld calling: Ram Gopal Varma
Ram Gopal Varma may have breathed a temporary sigh of relief when Sarkar Raj received relatively good reviews. The director had been subjected to so much flak for a spate of films based on twisted scripts and genres. Even masterpieces like Rangeela, Satya and Company were conveniently forgotten. But now, he’s back to doing what he does best. Ramu will soon complete his underworld trilogy with the film Contract.
Unlike Satya and Company, Contract has no big names to bank on. What does Ramu have to say about his ‘thing’ for newcomers? “The film is supposed to have this raw, rustic look. The characters are required to bring a sense of realism. Big stars have a set image with audiences, so they may not fit in too well. Besides, new actors don’t carry starry baggage,” he says, trying to sound as diplomatic as he can.
Does he agree with the notion that he’s obsessed with the genre of underworld films? “I’m obsessed with the genre because the audience is obsessed with it,” he says. “Due to the hard-hitting nature of my films, it gives a psychological impression that I only make underworld films.” His inclination towards dark, scary films is well known too, Phoonk being his latest. Does he think it will match up to Raat or Bhoot? “I might have done a relatively better job with Bhoot, but Phoonk is what I’m really looking forward to. The film has gone far beyond just a scary movie”, he says.

yet another kapoor's are crush with each other
Looks like Sonam Kapoor has found her new love in Kunal Kapoor. This Bollywood Kapoor Jodi is nowadays often scene roaming around coffee shops, malls, etc with hand in hand. Looking at the recent happenings in both the stars life they really could heal each others broken heart. Where Ranbir Kapoor dumped Sonam for hottie Deepika Padukone, Kunal Kapoor too had a break up with gorgeous Dia Mirza. So the couple could surely understand each other’s situation and try to bring happiness on their respective lives. Especially, Anil Kapoor’s daughter Sonam was so depressed after her break up with Ranbir that she went for a 2 months hideout. But we would like to warn this emotional girl about Mr Kunal who has not only ditched Diya Mirza but also has an flirtatious history of dumping Raima Sen. Being an emotional girl we would recommend Sonam to think twice before moving ahead in her relationship with this flirt natured guy.

Bollywood turnsout for Katrina's Birthday
If Salman Khan personally invites you for a party, there are few who would dare to refuse. Well that's what the actor did for his girlfriend Katrina Kaif's birthday. His entire family was there playing host and the guests were literally the who's who of the industry.
Incidentally Katrina, who turned 24 yesterday, was accompanied by her mom and sister, both of who had flown down from London to be with her. The other two Khans of the industry, Aamir and Shah Rukh were present on the occasion. Also thronging the party were loverbirds Deepika Padukone and Ranbir Kapoor. Sonam Kapoor of Saawariya fame was also there. But what was surprising was the number of directors who had turned up at the venue. Beginning from Raj Kumar Santoshi, David Dhawan, Kunal Kohli, Anees Bazmee, Prakash Jha, Rohan and Ramesh Sippy, Manmohan Shetty, Nikhil Advani and Karan Johar, among others. The party's turnout just reflected the power that the Khans exert over Bollywood.

priyanka working on her past
Working in Madhur Bhandarkar 's forthcoming film Fashion was a walk down memory lane for Bollywood star Priyanka Chopra .
"If you remember, I started my professional life as a model. And now while doing 'Fashion', I met up with my friends from my modelling days... Noyonika Chatterjee, Jesse Randhawa, Aanchal Kumar... That was the best part of doing 'Fashion'," Priyanka said.
"When I was modelling I was 17. So it's like a whole era has passed between then and now," Priyanka said, who was seen in a 'futuristic' look in her latest release Love Story 2050 .
But Priyanka adds that she isn't that experienced as a model.
"I modelled for only three months ... between the Miss India and Miss World pageants. But yeah it was fun. I was a wide-eyed excited child then. Yes, I'm using my experiences as a model to play my character in 'Fashion'," said the former Miss World.
Priyanka's character in the film undergoes a tremendous metamorphosis.
"And I've gone through that metamorphosis myself. Like my character, I was a small-town girl finding my way through the modelling world when I came to Mumbai. A lot of it is derived from my own experiences."
Priyanka says shooting for films and modelling are completely different.

Aishwarya was his first choice for hancock said smith
The gorgeous Indian actress Aishwarya Rai Bachchan was Will Smith's first choice for 'Hancock' over Oscar winning Charlize Theron but the actress declined.
Smith, who by his own admission is a great fan of Ash, is not disappointed and believes that they will share good on screen chemistry.
"I would love to work with Aishwarya. She is gorgeous. I had even offered her roles with me. In fact for 'Hancock' also she was my first preference over Charlize," he said in an e-mail interview.
The actor is still hopeful that would work together in future.
"I received denials all the times, may be she had some justified problems. But of course, I will do anything to work with Aishwarya," says a hopeful Smith.
The 'Independence Day' actor, whose latest superhero flick 'Hancock' is all set to release in India today is also a huge fan of Indian films industry and is currently exploring possibilities of working in an Indian film.
Smith is in love with Bollywood and believes that the future of international cinema lies in a conjugal tie between the world's two largest entertainment industries.
"I think a marriage between Bollywood and Hollywood would yield outstanding results," Smith said.
"I would love to work in an Indian film. I have seen a couple of Bollywood movies, which had impressed me a lot. I also had a word with Karan Johar . Let's see what's there in store," says the actor.
"I love Indian cinema and its actors. Their energy level is just incompatible. The songs and dances in Bollywood movies are just amazing," he added.
Ask about his favourite Indian actors, and Smith, who was last seen in the much acclaimed 'Pursuit of Happiness' comes up with a list of top most actors in Bollywood. Of course, Ash figures on top followed by Amitabh Bachchan and Shahrukh Khan .
"Amitabh Bachchan is a rocking man. Witnessing him and his mania all over India, I too have decided to rename myself to Big W. Shah Rukh Khan is another actor who is a great buzz there," says Smith.
Already popular among Indian cine-fans, the actor is all praise for the Indian audience and hopes his latest flick will also enjoy similar love from them.
"I thank them with all my heart for watching my films with a keen interest and hope the same for 'Hancock' too. Indian audience are very sensible and I expect that my film will receive warmth in manifolds."

Imran-Harman proves themselves
With their respective debut movies having already hit the screen Friday, Imran Khan and Harman Baweja have arrived, literally and figuratively. The industry is more than happy to get two new faces as it feels that the newcomers will ease the situation a bit for independent filmmakers.
'Of course, they are a welcome addition. Why only two, the industry needs, at least, 20 stars like Imran Khan and Harman Baweja. It needs them for the survival of the independent producers, especially,' Anil Nagrath, Bollywood production consultant, told IANS.
Maybe, unlike many others before them, Harman and Imran have reached stardom too quickly and too easily, courtesy their respective mentors.
In Harman's case, it was his filmmaker father, Harry Baweja, who moulded his career. Imran, of course, was relentlessly and a little too indulgently promoted by his meticulous actor-producer uncle Aamir Khan. To good effect, as it has been proved!
In Imran, Bollywood has got a brand new star. And whatever may be the box-office fate of 'Love Story 2050,' Harman, too, has proved that he is very much 'star material'.
'That both could endear themselves to the audiences instantly is a proof of the fact that they have it in them to carve out their own niches in Bollywood. But give them some time,' said casting director Abhimanyu.
Of course, Bollywood's production sector is generally happy that these two newcomers have been able to make the grade. Getting two additional stars means a lot to producers.
'Bollywood always had a paucity of stars. But it is increasingly being felt now because unlike in the past, when non-star-cast films could also do reasonable business, today, they don't even sell. Bollywood market dynamics have changed drastically of late,' said Nagrath.
Today, most producers try to sign the few saleable stars that are available. As demands on the stars growing, this has resulted in price escalation on all fronts, directly and indirectly.
'Escalating star price and non-availability of their dates have impacted the independent producers the most. Many of them have already shut shops. Few that are remaining are making films only at the behest of the corporate entities, which have virtually taken over Bollywood,' Nagrath explained.
But as soon as the stars hit the marquee and become saleable commodities, the corporate houses quickly sign deals with them, offering them prices that are beyond the reach of the independent producers.
Nagrath admits that the studio model introduced by the corporate entities is going to stay in Bollywood.0.
'But, ultimately, it is the content that makes a good movie and that can only be provided by the independent producers,' he said.
Elaborating, he added that the independent producers wanting to make movies with reigning stars might have to enter into tie-up agreements with corporate houses, but those would be their films.
'This is the way they do it in Hollywood. Even a filmmaker like Steven Spielberg had to partner, first with Universal and then with Paramount. There are constraints, but one has to live with it,' Nagrath stressed.

After 'Fashion', it's 'Jail' for Madhur Bhandarkar
Mumbai, (IANS) After finishing "Fashion", Madhur Bhandarkar will make a hard-hitting film on a prison escape titled "Jail" with Neil Nitin Mukesh. He says he wanted to shoot it in a real prison.
"But there were too many practical problems. It'll be in the thriller format. I've been mulling the subject right from the time I made 'Chandni Bar'. Now I've completely revamped the film," Bhandarkar told IANS.
Bhandarkar liked Neil's work in "Johnny Gaddar" and thus chose him to play the lead.
"I saw his work in 'Johnny Gaddar' and I knew he was perfect. I don't think a prison story like 'Jail' has been done so far in Hindi. I always want to go into genres that are new for me and for the audience."
The film will be a two-hour taut thriller produced jointly by Bhandarkar and Percept Pictures.
"I'll now make all my films in collaboration with another company. Percept has been with me through my last few films barring 'Fashion', which I co-produce with UTV."
The acclaimed director says he was taken aback by the National Award for "Traffic Signal". Incidentally, he was caught in traffic in the pouring rain when news of award reached him.
"Since the National Awards are running a year late, I wasn't even aware that 'Traffic Signal' was up for consideration. I was stuck in the torrential rains when a news channel from Delhi called to inform me. I thought it was a joke. Later the phone started ringing.
"The film was very difficult to make. There were 60 characters. And half of them were non-actors, straight from the streets. And we did no workshops."
Though Bhandarkar has won National awards for both "Chandni Bar" and "Page 3", this is his first National award for best director. For the first time, two films of the same director were competing against each other.
"My 'Traffic Signal' and 'Corporate' were in the race together. Both are my babies and equally important. I felt very sad when 'Chandni Bar' and 'Page 3' didn't get enough popular awards. But I've no complaints.
"Without a godfather I've created a niche for myself. I've acquired a branding today. And I'm proud of my achievement."
"Fashion" budgeted at Rs.200 million is Bhandarkar's most glamorous and expensive film to date.
"'Traffic Signal' was made on a cost of Rs.40 million. 'Chandni Bar' was made for Rs.15 million. 'Fashion' is a big financial leap. Because of the kind of opulence that the film has, we needed a big star.
"Priyanka Chopra is a glamorous star and the film couldn't have been made without her."
For his past films, the director has been turned down by Karisma Kapoor ("Satta"), Kareena Kapoor ("Page 3") and Aishwarya Rai ("Corporate").
"It's taken me a long time to get here," Bhandarkar said.

Finally patch up between amitabh N aamir
The cold war between Amitabh Bachchan and Aamir Khan is not hidden from anyone. But now it seems that they wanted to bid good bye to their days of differences and fights and work cordially. It was Aamir who has made the first attempt to dump ill feelings for Amitabh Bachchan and establish an amicable arrangement with him by inviting Big B to the premiere of Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na. Amitabh welcomed his invitation and grace the occasion and said a lot in his honor.
"All of us belong to a very warm-hearted and harmonious fraternity. We conduct healthy banter among ourselves. We all respect and have the highest regard for one another’s creativity. That’s the way we’ve been and that’s the way we shall always be," quipped Big B. The relationship between the duo worsened when Aamir commented negatively regarding Big B’s critically acclaimed film Black. But now everything has been sorted out and they now hold a high esteem for each other

Hrithik Roshan in hollywood movies
Hrithik Roshan finally decides to debut real big in Hollywood.
Stars like Lisa Ray, Om Puri and Gulshan Grover have done many off-beat Hollywood movies, but Hrithik Roshan would be the first Bollywood hero to feature in a full commercial Hollywood movie.
Hrithik Roshan has signed a contract with Hollywood superstar Brad Pitt’s celebrity and star management agency (for almost 20 years now) called Brillstein-Grey Entertainment.
After the success of India’s first super hero movie Krishh, Hrithik Roshan was offered many Hollywood movies, but he waited for the right role and right movie.
Hrithik Roshan’s fan following is a phenomenon as he was a run away hit right from his debut movie Kaho Na Pyar Hai. Many in bollywood thought that science fiction movies like Koi Mil gaya and super hero movies like Krishh won’t work, but Hrithik Roshan and his director father Rakesh Roshan thought otherwise. Those movies went on to become one of the highest all time bollywood grossers.
Hrithik Roshan next in a periodic movie Jodha Akbar opposite his Dhoom-2 costar Aishwarya Rai. Hrithik Roshan plays mogul ruler Akbar.

You must have got a fair idea about Shruti Haasan by reading the above lines, but there is much more to her - She is a rock star. Shocked? Well, Shruti Hassan has been performing with her band at various venues recently. Recently when I saw her pictures in VERVE magazine, I knew she is raring to make her big screen debut. The makers of the movie Luck say that since the movie is an action based thriller, they picked Shruti for her athletic body. Anyways, we have seen so many star kid debuts, so let’s see her how different is Shruti

Aishwarya to do Benazir Bhutto
According to reports in the media, Aishwarya Rai would play the role of former late Pakistani Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto. The movie would be produced by UTV and the officials at the production house are busy negotiating with the Pakistani officials and Mrs. Bhutto’s family.
I don’t think it’s a good idea to make a movie on somebody who has passed away recently. Moreover, there are still confusions over her assassination. And I don’t think Aishwarya is capable to do that role.

Bachna Ae Haseeno music launched
Vishal-Shekhar have revived the Kishore Kumar-RD Burman classic Bachna Ae Haseeno for Rishi Kapoor's son Ranbir's next release of the same name. At the music launch of the film, Buzz18 caught up with the duo to find out more about reworking this all-time chartbuster. Bur before we start the interview they say - "Don't bother who answers the questions. We both always say the same thing". Read on...
The first promos are just out and everyone's talking about the revived title track. Are you scared about Bachna Ae Haseeno overshadowing the rest of the soundtrack?
PROMO: Ranbir with Bips, Deepika, Minissha...
see Bachna Ae Haseeno is not a contest for us. Having this song in a Vishal-Shekhar album is like an aashirwaad, a blessing for us. Here is a song that has the names of RD Burman, Kishore Kumar and Majrooh Sultanpuri associated with it. For us, it's a way of showing our love for their work by paying a tribute to this song. It has to be the lead song of the film and there are no two ways about it. There is a certain aspirational value attached to this track for us. We know we can't compete with a song that's been a classic for 30 years. And can only hope someday even our music is remembered after so many years.
