Amitabh in lead with Bhansali’s Next

According to reports, Amitabh Bachchan wants to make a comeback to television. It’s not like the veteran has much time to spare considering the number of films he is currently associated with. Confirming the rumours of his signing a Sanjay Leela Bhansali film, Amitabh is also busy shooting for Aladdin.

Talking about his venture with Bhansali, the Big B says, “It will be inappropriate to talk about the project as we are just discussing its script. But, yes I was approached to do the film and it will be directed by his assistant, while Bhansali will produce it. It’s titled Janaab Gandhi’

He also affirmed the news about his wish to make a comeback on TV. He said, “Discussions and meetings are on about the same. There are some game shows and other ideas to be considered. Now we’ll pick and choose and I may be on the small screen very soon.”

Ask him about his impending world tour which has been in the pipeline for quite some time now, and he states, “It’s just the usual thing that happens on live shows. There will be song, dance, music, discussion and the likes.” Well, in that case, wonder why the audience should shell out good money to come and watch ‘the usual’. Anyway, moving on, he gives a very Big B like retort on the stars who backed out from the tour. He says, “I am thinking about the people who will participate in the tour. I don’t think of those who walked out. I am just eager to see them.” So are we, provided we get to experience something out of the ordinary, considering it is The Bachchans we are talking about.

Salman vs Sharukh -big fight on TV

Bollywood's most popular Khans - Shah Rukh and Salman - are battling it out on prime time.Incidentally, both the shows, SRK's Kya Aap Paanchvi Pass Se Tez Hain and Salman's Dus Ka Dum, are being produced by Siddhartha Basu.

Sidhharth Basu, CMD, Synergy Adlabs, says: "Salman is playful, warm, genuine. SRK always knows what to say, spontaneous, and makes everyone feel comfortable."

Dus Ka Dum has failed to pack in a punch unlike Kya… that garnered high ratings even with a rival like IPL.

Salman and SRK have a tradition of releasing films on the same day - Don & Jaaneman - in which SRK came out tops in terms of collections.

While the stars of the show rope in the initial sponsorships and eyeballs, it is a combination of the format, presentation and involvement of the host that will impact the popularity of the shows.

Manish sign Silpa shetty for "Matrubhoomi"

Mumbai, (IANS) Bollywood beauty Shilpa Shetty, who's also turned producer now, has signed on filmmaker Manish Jha of "Matrubhoomi" fame to direct her first home production that will go on the floor in November."The untitled project is in its initial stages. It will have two heroes and two heroines. And I will be one of the heroines. As far as cast and crew go, only Manish and I are finalised ... the rest are yet to be decided," said Shilpa, who achieved international fame after winning the British reality show "Celebrity Big Brother".

The actress, who launched her production house S2 Global Productions last year, says she is making an appearance in the movie at Jha's behest."Manish felt the character suits me well and so I'm a part of it," Shilpa told IANS here.Jha had earlier directed Shilpa's yoga DVD, which was shot near the backwaters of Kerala.

The actress, who started her stint in Bollywood with "Baazigar" and gave hits like "Main Khiladi Tu Anari" and "Dhadkan", has not been seen on the silver screen for quite some time now.

Talking about her future plans, Shilpa said: "I plan to produce a lot of movies that I may not be a part of. I'm also planning to re-launch my sister Shamita."Shamita will not be part of the first project, but I am thinking of a film for her too. The second film will be for Shamita."

"Now I am concentrating on quality films and have become choosy about subjects. My last release was 'Life... in a Metro' and 'Apne' and after that now I am doing 'The Man'," she explained.

"The Man" is a romantic thriller in which Shilpa plays an actress. It is Sunny Deol's second directorial venture after "Dillagi" and also stars Udita Goswami. Sunny himself plays the main lead.Shilpa will also be seen in a special role in Karan Johar's "Dostana".Besides being busy with films, Shilpa is upbeat about being part of the Bachchans' 'Unforgettable' world tour. She is set to perform at two special shows in London.

"After a long time, I'm a part of such a big tour. This is the second time I will be performing with Amitji. It will be a real pleasure and joy to be part of such a mega tour. It will be a finale with all the actors on the same stage," she said excitedly.

The star-studded world tour featuring superstars like Amitabh, Abhishek, Aishwairya, Preity Zinta, Riteish Deshmukh and music directors Vishal-Shekhar will kick off July 18 at Toronto. It will later travel across the US including cities like Los Angeles, San Francisco, Houston and New York, and then head to London.

finally outgrown the happy married life

New Delhi, June 26: Be it award functions, film promotions or press conferences, the gorgeous Bachchan bahu is evidently quite happy whenever seen with family. Recently, Ash’s usual over the top behaviour became a cause for embarrassment for hubby Abhishek. The couple lately had a heated argument, on their way to attend the IIFA ceremony, when the actress was getting a little too loud and Abhi wanted her to just be soft in her expression.

As the couple was proceeding to attend the award function, with actor Kunal Kapoor, Ash got too loud and vocal, while Abhishek subtly asked her to keep her voice low. Understanding the need of the situation, Kunal promptly left the place in order to stay out of their marital spat.

However, reports reveal that the actress in spite of being warned by hubby couldn't maintain a low profile. Abhishek then took wife to the hotel lobby, made her sit peacefully and had a word with her to make himself clearly understood.

According to sources, things did not work out for them and Ash continued auguring at the top of her voice, and which is when Abhi completely lost his temper and ended up telling his personal security guards to escort his wife to her room.

Now, does that imply that the couple has finally outgrown the so very ‘happy-happy’ beat of their marriage? We definitely hope not.

Getting married is great but rumours about it are harmful

Rani said, “This was a media rumour. It was funny to begin with. Then it got weird and finally scary”.

Reacting to her fans best wishes, Rani further remarked, “Getting married is great but rumours about it are harmful”.

Few days back, Rani made a statement that she is single and ready to mingle. She is not into any sort of relationship and wrong rumors are only distracting the smooth running of her life. Speaking about marrige, Rani retorted, “I am not even into a relationship, let alone getting married”.

Six heroes in 'Acid Factory'

The Acid Factory event began with a press conference that announced White Feather Films association with Mahindra & Mahindra's entertainment arm, Mumbai Mantra. This was followed by a fashion show in the evening featuring the stars from the film – Fardeen Khan, Irrfan Khan, Aftab Shivdasani, Dino Morea, Manoj Bajpai, Danny Dengzongpa, the six swapping men with their guns and guts and the scintillating Dia Mirza in a naughty, catty avtar.

The men, who were dressed in suits, looked dashing, while Dia appeared hot and sexy. The actress' new avtar took the audience by surprise. The crowd went absolutely berserk watching the stars walk coolly and stylishly on the ramp.

One actor, whom people just could not stop talking about, was Manoj Bajpai. The actor had donned an absolutely new look for the fashion show. His sophisticated style and somber look sent the audience into a tizzy. And it was not only the audience who stood impressed! Manoj Bajpai's looks even took Amitabh Bachchan by storm. The veteran actor was completely bowled over by Bajpai's suave avatar and made it a point to shower compliments on him backstage.

Kangana referred Adhyayan as her 'brother'

The unbreakable bond between stars and gossip is ages old. You need not be an established name in the industry, as long as you are a part of it trust the grapevine to target you. Then how different could Adhyayan’s fate be. Shekhar Suman’s son has been caught up in rumours right from day one of his debut film’s release. What’s worse, the film, titled Haal-E-Dil, didn’t even get the desired response at the box-office.

Of late, the hot topic is his growing proximity with Kangana Ranaut. Not surprisingly, he is denying all these rumours as mere allegations. He says, “You know how it works here. I’m doing Raaz 2 with Kangana as my co-star. We are good friends and the moment you say ‘good friends’ you get linked.” If she’s no more than a co-star, then why was she the only one from the Raaz 2 team present at his premiere? He rues, “I’d called the entire team, but only Kangana could make it.”

Interestingly, Adhyayan’s ‘good friend’ Kangana referred to him as her brother in an interview. The newcomer is quick to laugh it off and says, “Even I asked her why she called me her brother, but I was just pulling her leg. Perhaps the reporter mistook her quote. She didn’t mean anything else but that we are good friends.” Of course, he should know what her statements actually indicate.

Whatever be the name they give to their relationship, there seems more to it than shows on the surface. Aditya Pancholi, Kangana’s ex-lover, was also present at Haal-E-Dil’s premiere. Apparently, the day after the event, Aditya sent threatening messages to Adhyayan and Kangana. However, Adhyayan says that there is absolutely no truth to it. He says, “Aditya won’t do that. He has worked with my father before and they share a cordial relationship with each other.”

Now that we have Adhyayan clarifying about the alleged rumours, lets get it from the horse’s mouth if the news of his father being upset with producer Kumar Mangat is also just another gossip. For a change, Adhyayan admits about the relationship gone sour. He says, “When the story was narrated to me, I thought the character would be there for at least 30-40 % of the film. But, when we saw the film, it seemed very incomplete to me as an actor. My father was told that I have a good screen time and a fantastic role. Obviously, he was not too happy with the way it turned out.” Phew, just a film old and Adhyayan has already learnt to deal with the grapevine. Now, if he could learn to deal with some good directors and producers in the future.

Ranbir and Upen Together With Katrina

Upen Patel is currently shooting in utmost secrecy with Ranbir Kapoor and Katrina Kaif for Raj Kumar Santoshi's ajeeb-titled Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani.

What would Upen be doing in a film which has Ranbir Kapoor playing the title role ?

"It is the love story of Ranbir and Katrina, no two ways about it, " admits Upen. "But I don't have a flimsy part at all. No way. I've 40 days of work in the film.

I come into the plot like Salman in Kuch Kuch Hota Hai. But my main reason for doing the film was of course Raj Santoshi. When he offered me a role I felt ten-feet tall.

When I heard the script I fell in love with my character. No way was I going to miss the chance of being in this film just because another actor had the lead."

Upen is under strict contract not to reveal any details of the plot. "But the biggest compliment I got was when Rajji said he was making a comedy after 14 years.

And if Ranbir was like Aamir in Andaz Apna Apna I was like Salman in that film. The faith that he has shown in me is precious. I'm working hard to live up to his faith."

And this time, Upen is pretty sure Katrina would prove lucky for him as well. "Katrina and I were in Namaste London together. And look where that film took her."

That wasn't such a pleasant experience for Upen. "But this time we'll be far more relaxed. We're both Londoners, remember?

We were both raw and new when we did Namaste London. Look how lucky she is for her movies. Hope she proves lucky for me as well."

The reason Yukta is in the news is because her film Memsahab, was released this Friday along with De Taali and Haal e Dil and, as expected, the film didn't exactly figure in anyone's 'films to watch list.' The film is a story about a girl, who is a victim of the 1984 riots and subsequently lands up in prostitution. Yukta has been going around telling people that this is her best performance to date. But sadly, there aren't too many takers here. Let's see how the film fares at the box office.

According to the recent reports, Akki is all set to participate in the Unforgettable Tour with the Bachchans. He said, “It’s in Toronto and I hope it’s really unforgettable for the audience. I’m looking forward to the tour as Canada holds a special place in my heart.” He is quick to add the other important reason. He says, “It’s a tour with Amitabh Bachchan. I have done seven films with him and don’t think there is anybody who has had that privilege yet.” Well, with an unforgettable team performing, the tour is not going to be anything less than that.

has begun and Aamir is a busy man nowadays, planning a lavish premiere of the film, which is not just his home production but also the launchpad of his nephew Imran.






Aamir is not known to indulge in such acts of pomp and extravagance. Even his last film Taare Zameen Par was released at a low-key premiere and there wasn’t any celebration party after the film’s super-success because Aamir apparently didn’t want to blow his own horn from the rooftops.

So strict is Aamir about his principles that he even did not file any nomination for TZP at IIFA despite the fact that the movie could have swept the board at the award function.

Living by his own rules and principles, Aamir, however, is making an exception for Imran. Aamir has already dedicated ‘Jaane Tu’ as his gesture of gratitude towards uncle Nasir Hussain for launching him in Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak
decades ago. Aamir is now reciprocating the gesture by launching Hussain’s grandson Imran.

And quite a launch it would be. Reports have it that a multiplex in Goregaon has already been booked and preparations are in full swing to make it a lavish premiere.
